Meeting Elements
At London Cardinals, we have three in-person monthly meetings where members learn leadership skills by organising and conducting meetings in which they complete different projects. The projects address skills such as listening, planning, motivating and team building giving members the opportunity to practice them.
Our meetings are composed of three main elements
Table Topics
In the first half of our meeting we provide an opportunity for speakers, both members and guests, to step onto the stage and tackle impromptu questions. Table Topics serves as invaluable practice for conversational speaking, preparing you for real-life scenarios like job interviews, work presentations, and networking conversations. Embrace the chance to sharpen your ability to think on your feet, articulate ideas fluently, and confidently express yourself in spontaneous situations. Join us and master the art of impromptu speaking.
Prepared Speeches
Members engage in a compelling showcase of prepared speeches, encompassing a time frame of 5 to 7 minutes per speech. These presentations offer a unique avenue for delving into diverse subjects, ranging from personal anecdotes and real-life experiences to informative exposés and entertaining discourse. This segment stands as a testament to the mastery of communication within our club, encapsulating the essence of individual growth and collective learning through the power of oratory expression.
Evaluation
We cultivate an environment of ongoing enhancement, embracing growth at every step. Each member gets to both receive and give evaluations after completing at least 2 speaking projects. These evaluations provide precise, actionable feedback, propelling our progress. Through evaluations, we not only enhance our speaking skills but also master the art of offering valuable advice. Our club creates a supportive space where feedback is cherished, allowing us to hone strengths and tackle areas for improvement adeptly.
